Membership

More than half of the membership of Mental Health Planning and Advisory Councils is consumers or clients of behavioral health services, persons in recovery, family members of consumers, or other interested persons. Other members are providers of behavioral health services and representatives of State agencies which impact behavioral health services. Consumer and family members are identified by the behavioral health region in which they reside.

The by-laws of the West Virginia Behavioral Health Planning Council provide for the existing membership to nominate and elect new members. Members may serve two three-year terms. Interested persons may request consideration for membership by completing and submitting an Interest Indicator.

The WV Behavioral Health Planning Council membership includes representation from the following regions:

Region 1 (Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, and Wetzel Counties)
Region 2 (Pendleton, Grant, Hardy, Mineral, Hampshire, Morgan, Jefferson, and Berkeley Counties)
