Wellness Recovery Action Plan

The Wellness Recovery Action Plan®, or WRAP®, is an evidence-based system widely used by individuals dealing with any health challenge who want to achieve the highest possible level of wellness. It is a structured, self-directed system that helps a person identify the things needed every day to get and stay well. It also helps a person think about what to do when things are getting difficult and how to handle crises.

Studies show that people who regularly use WRAP® have increased knowledge about their mental health and other health issues. They develop and refer to tools and skills for managing problems day-to-day and to identify and address problems before they lead to crisis. WRAP® users report improvement in symptoms, recovery activities, hopefulness, self-advocacy, and overall physical health.

The WVBHPC is identifying a pool of WRAP® facilitators – individuals who are trained to teach the principles of WRAP® to a group of interested individuals. Contact information for WRAP® facilitators will be posted when it is available. In the meantime, you may write to WVBHPC at P. O. Box 1095, Charleston, WV 25324-1095 to request more information.
